Nelson Santos is a illustrator, costume design and stylist, who moved to London in 2007 after studying Fashion and Textiles Design in Portugal.
He explores and overemphasizes the human body shape by manipulating materials, texture and cuts to create unique pieces to suit each individual he works with. His work is a fusion of art and fashion, exploring a different side of fashion and the dichotomy between the beautiful and the ugly and the aspirational desire for beauty.
Nelson's inspiration comes from the people in the streets, music and films. Since 2012 he has been working as senior fashion editor at KCTV, which has enabled him to keep up to date and share his views on the fashion world with the general public.
As an up and coming designer, he won a national award in 1st place for young fashion designers in Portugal in 2006. He has also been awarded the "The Future of Fashion Illustration" an international competition by Fashion Capital, in 2012 and chosen over 100,000 entrants.
Nelson is a multifaceted creative who over the last 2 years has not only designed and made several costumes for performers, singers & DJ's, worldwide, but also has art directed and styled fashion films and most recently contributed towards a world-renowned fashion book called Petrie 66. Nelson continues to grow by grasping all new opportunities that come his way.
